Adding Tasks In Context

Summary: Create tasks where you already are — on a page, in the Outline, on the Board, on the Timeline, or in the Table — instead of leaving context to hunt a form.

What it is

Runcible lets you create tasks in place. The goal is the same everywhere — a new task on the right parent — but the gesture matches the view you are already using.

On a page

Open the page (program, project, deliverable, or task) and add a child from the Subtasks tab (or the page's add-task control). The new task nests under the page you are looking at.

In the Outline

Use the Outline's inline add / insert controls to create a sibling or child at the selected row. Best when you are shaping structure.

On the Board

Add a card to a stage column. The new task inherits the board's filter context (program/project) and starts in that stage.

On the Timeline / Gantt

Create a task positioned in time. Useful when the when is clearer than the where in the tree.

In the Table (List)

Add a row in the list view. Fast for bulk entry when you care about fields more than nesting.

Note: Exact button labels vary slightly by view; if a control is missing in Beta, use the page Subtasks tab or Quick Task and move the work afterward.
