Working with Tasks

Creating Templates: Groups of Tasks, or Entire Projects

Summary: Keep reusable steps, processes, or protocols as template projects, then drag them into live work via The Dock or a side-by-side workspace.

What it is

If you repeat the same steps, processes, or protocols, collect them once as templates โ€” a program of projects/deliverables you copy into live work instead of retyping.

Templates can be personal/private or public for everyone. The procedure is the same.

How to create a template program

  1. Create a new Production program (for example, My Templates).
  2. Create a project inside it called Templates.
  3. Under that project, create a deliverable for each template.
  4. Inside each deliverable, build the list of tasks, stories, expenses, or whatever the protocol needs.
  5. Open the project's page and add it to Favorites.

How to use a template

Either:

Favorite-based flow:

  1. Open the program and project that should receive the tasks.
  2. From the Main Menu โ†’ Favorites, open your My Templates favorite.
  3. Runcible opens a sliding page for the project.
  4. On the Subtasks tab, drag the template you want to The Dock, then from The Dock into the Outline where you want it.
