Summary: Permission Groups are named membership sets for object access and workflow targeting. They are not chat rooms or enterprise broadcast lists.
Permission Groups (Configuration โ Access Control) are named membership sets. Admins add members, then grant object roles (spectator through owner) on programs, tasks, companies, and similar pages โ without maintaining ACL row-by-person. Workflow decision-makers can also target a group.
They are not social/media groups, chat rooms, or broadcast audiences. There is no staff-owned enterprise-wide or cross-instance blast surface. That is intentional: talk stays on object walls (scoped by who can see the page), invite-only chats, and channels / #channels (reception and opt-in topics).
Related, but different: Access Roles (Configuration โ Access Control) grant global product capability; Teams organize delivery people inside a Program.
